The Rocha-Cadman Foundation

Xiomara Rocha-Cadman, M.D.
Founder/ CEO
Dr. Xiomara Rocha-Cadman, serves as President and Founder of The Rocha-Cadman Foundation and is an Associate Clinical Professor and Chief of the Division of Psychiatry within the Department of Supportive Care Medicine at City of Hope. A nationally and internationally recognized leader in consultation-liaison psychiatry and psycho-oncology, she specializes in the psychiatric care of patients with advanced cancer, hematologic malignancies, and those undergoing stem cell transplantation.
Born and raised in Nicaragua, Dr. Rocha-Cadman dreamed from an early age of becoming a physician, driven by a passion for learning and a deep commitment to caring for the whole person. Personal experiences with cancer later inspired her to specialize in psychiatry—specifically psycho-oncology—with the goal of easing the emotional burden cancer places on patients and their families.
After completing fellowship training in psycho-oncology, Dr. Rocha-Cadman joined the faculty at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she served as the psychiatrist liaison to the Bone Marrow Transplant Service. She subsequently joined City of Hope, where her clinical, scholarly, and leadership work continues to focus on integrating psychiatric, palliative, and psychosocial care across the cancer continuum.
A central focus of Dr. Rocha-Cadman’s work is reducing disparities in cancer care, particularly for Latino and underserved populations. She is a dedicated advocate for the Latin community and remains deeply committed to education, mentorship, and collaboration with colleagues across Latin America. Outside of her professional roles, she is a marathon runner and finds her greatest joy in time spent with her husband and children.
